Valentines Day

VD Venn digram

Simple and precise if you're in a relationship or a bitter single person. Thankfully I am not in a relationship, not bitter, and have excellent friends.

I spent this hallmark holiday with three good friends at Brasserie Becks (http://www.beckdc.com/), a French/Belgian cuisine restaurant that opened in DC last spring.

The food was phenomenal. I had half a dozen oysters of my waiters choice, sampled the beef tartar, and devoured the best pork tenderloin I've ever had in my life. The atmosphere was relaxed, especially on valentines day. We spent the better part of the evening studying the crowd, watching dates go very well and very poorly. Had I been more brazen I would have pictures of the girl who could barely stay awake, the crying drunk woman, the insanely hot girl in the pink dress showing off an amazing rack, the rockabilly/punk chick with awesome sleeve tattoos and others.

This place has made my list of awesome restaurants in DC. It's huge, about 8,500sqft of fantastic design. The prices are reasonable for the amazing food. Check out the wallpaper in the mens bathroom...I'm told it's a custom print but if anyone out there has seen it before, let me know!
